Brandon Farris is an avid aviation photographer who spends his weekends off traveling across the country taking pictures of both civilian and military aircraft. Many find it surprising that he only started back in February of 2010 based on the progression of his work. A couple of people that have really helped him hone in on the skill level he is at today is Jeremy Dwyer-Lindgren and Keith Draycott. Brandon work’s in the industry with Horizon Air on the Ramp at SeaTac International Airport.
The event that really kicked it off for Brandon that got him going to where he is today was the first flight of the 747-8F. It was a great starting point for him that has now taken him across the country where he shot 6 different air shows in his first year from Seattle, up to Elmendorf and down to Las Vegas for Aviation Nation which is where he met up with Dave Budd and Joe Kates.
By continuing to improve on his skill it has managed to get him invites to big events such as Red Flag down at Nellis Air Force Base and a ride on Fat Albert. In 2011 he has already kicked off his season down in El Centro for the kick off of the Blue Angels Season. He has many air shows planned that he is going to attempt to attend this season from all around the country.
He uses Canon as his main camera. The body he currently uses is the T2i combined with the 100-400MM. This has already proven early this season to be a deadly great combo that will bring many great images throughout the 2011 season.
But when not traveling Brandon resides in Seattle Washington where he has Boeing in his backyard to go and play with.
