Todd Allen has always had a love of aircraft.
Living just two blocks from Montgomery Field in San Diego sealed his fate. He worked odd jobs at the airport as a kid just so he could hop on and ride with anyone who would be willing to take him up for a flight. That was it, he was hooked forever.
Shortly after high school, Todd enlisted in the USAF and became a Crew Chief on AC-130H Spectre Gunships out of Hurlburt Field, Florida. After a few years of bloodying knuckles and having his arms burned while performing countless after flight tests on the engines, he took the advice of the flight crews and applied to enter training to become a Flight Engineer. With just over 1600 flight hours on several types of C-130s, three wars, and a conflict here and there, Todd was medically disqualified and forced from flying. He decided to go back to college.
Todd is married to his beautiful wife, Ann and together they have three children: Eddie, Jimmy, and Joe. He currently works for a top 5 military contractor as a Project Manager on unmanned aircraft projects. (“Flying toasters” as he likes to call them)
Missing his flying, Todd decided to jump back into aviation photography so he could fill the gap that his wonderful cubicle just couldn’t provide.
Todd Allen strives to offer the very best military aviation photographs.
