Steven Hinton captured his 5th consecutive National Air Race Championship win on Sunday September 15th, 2013. Piloting the highly modified P-51 Mustang Race #5 “Voodoo”, Hinton completed all 8 laps of the Breitling Gold race with an average lap time of 07:59.313 and an average speed of 482.074 mph. The win was a bitter sweet moment for team owner Bob Button and crew. After years of chasing Reno Gold this was to be the year the stars aligned for Button and Voodoo. All of us at Photorecon would like to congratulate the Voodoo team on a well-deserved win and for making “Purple the New Red”.
