The Winter’s Tale in the Desert
When we arranged the visit to AMARG in 2007, we thought of sun, heat and dust. We packed our boots, we bought special sunscreen and we prepared some t-shirts for the day. Plenty of water against the dehydration. You can’t imagine our surprise, when we looked in the morning out of the window – at first instance, I thought I’m back in Germany.-5°C (23°F) and snow – yes, it was snow. We were told by our guide, it was the first snow in the area for 20 years – just after lunch the splendor of mother nature was gone again. However, we tried our best to get as many pictures as possible of this unique occasion – it was a perfect day.
Big thank you for Terry Vanden-Heuvel, who accompanied us very patiently on our hike in the snow.
