A study in oil. The Wright Cyclone R-3350 provides plenty of oil down the side of the AD-1 Skyraider on the ramp at EAA AirVenture in 2018

After dark at Reno provides some of the most unique and amazing photo opportunities in aviation. Here is engine builder Rick Shanholtzer in the P-51 Mustang Miss America
Courtesy of thunderstorms south of Wittman Field in Oshkosh, we were treated to the most insane light I have ever has the pleasure to shoot a twilight show in. Here is the USAF F-22 with three P-51 Mustangs in the Heritage Flight
Details. When you’re at an airshow there is always a lot of clutter in the background. Just shoot the tail. Here is a shot of the tail markings on a Howard DGA-15 at EAA AirVenture
Getting up close with pilot Blaire Hamiton in the IF1 racer Atomic Pumpkin at the Reno Air Races. The IF1 racers are always great for pilot shots when we are allowed out by the runway to shoot.
Holloman AFB, just before Christmas in 2017, one of the last 4 QF-F4 Phantoms ready for its final flight in the US inventory. A remarkable day with one of the greatest airplanes ever built.
I have always loved this shot, just a magnificent B-17 Flying Fortress and some dramatic clouds at EAA AirVenture.
Mike Brown’s Sea Fury, September Fury performing a high powered engine run at the Reno Air Races. By observing the flames the crew was checking the performance of the magnetos.
One of the goals at Oshkosh in 2019 was to get a sharp shot of the Twin Mustang F-82. Mission accomplished. The plane has been for sale for some time and we may rarely if ever see it fly again.
One thing unique about EAA Airventure is being mere feet from aircraft as they taxi by. Amazing photo opportunities. Here a QF-4 Phantom from Holloman AFB taxis by the loving crowd.
Probably my most liked photo ever on social media, Steven Hinton straightens the P-51 Mustang Strega’s prop, after a dawn patrol flight at the Reno Air Races
Pure white and built for speed. The P-51 Mustang Voodoo putting time on the second engine installed to try to break Rare Bears record by the 1%. Taken at the Flying Joseph Ranch in Idaho. Wildfire smoke would prevent another attempt.
The star of any airshow it attends, one of only two flying B-29 Superfortress’s at EAA AirVenture in 2019. It is just stunning to see in person.
This aircraft just screams to be shot in black and white, every shot I take of it looks amazing. Jack Roush’s P-51B Mustang Old Crow at EAA Airventure
VX-9 Vampires Super Hornet during the night airshow at EAA AirVenture. Airplanes and fireworks, a match made in heaven.
