The Fighter Squadron EC 03.003 “Ardennes” belongs to the French Air Force and is flying the Mirage 2000D from Nancy-Ochey.

Fighter Sqaudron 03.003 (in french EC 03.003) “Ardennes” was decorated for its missions in Afghanistan and Lybia, the Squadron received the “Cross of Valor Military” medal.

The Mirage 2000D is the Fighterbomber variant of the 2000 family. It was developed in 1990 out of the Mirage 2000N to carry conventional weapons, the “D” stands for  “Diversifié” which means “all-round”. She had the same avionic systems as the 2000N but is lacking the capability for the use of the ASMP, the primary weapon for the 2000N,  which carries a nuclear warhead.

Eighty-six aircraft of this version were built and the remaining aircraft will be modernized in the near future into a multi-role fighter to keep it up-to-date for future missions.
