The Decatur Illinois Airport celebrated its 75th anniversary by holding the first airshow in 25 years.

I was asked to be the official photographer.

It was a great show, with three and a half hours of great flying. The US Army Golden Knights opened the show, and my friend Rich and I were privileged to be able to fly in the jump aircraft (A C-147 DHC-8) on the Friday night. It was an honour to be there with these men.

The rest of the show included Michael Vaknin, part of the US Aerobatics team, Susan Dacy in her Super Stearman ‘Big Red’ , power aerobatics by two of the best around, Rob Holland and Skip Stewart.

The Phillips 66 Aerostars did a three-man routine, Jeff Shetterly flew a great SNJ display. Randy Ball thrilled the crowd with his Mig-17, and Erik Edgren did a comedy routine in a 1939 Taylorcraft.

The crowd favourite was the A-10 demo team, Gator did his demo, and then was joined for the USAF Heritage Flight.
