A very rare sight in this new millennium, two flying B-29 bombers in formation over the AirVenture 2024 crowds.

Oshkosh was somewhat cloudy and cool for most of the day, but no weather affected the events, unlike the previous day (Tuesday). Wednesday was full of military demonstration teams. The Blue Angels diamond formation made a welcoming pass before leaving to their next air show venue, nearby Milwaukee. Thinderbird 8 also made an appearance.

The U. S. Air Force’s A-10, F-35, F-22 and F-16 single ship demonstration teams all made flights during the day and night shows. Plus, the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Snowbirds team arrived for the rest of the week.

In a rare performance, the U. S. Air Force’s four demo teams joined forces in a formation saluting the efforts of many ot keep America and democracy strong.

Warbirds once again filled the skies, this time in liaison and more trainer aircraft.

Civilian aircraft, including the Dyke Delta and the Breezy homebuilts joined into a parade during the air show.

Th now-famous Wednesday night air show started off with the big bombers, and then ripped into life with the F-22 and F-35 Demo pilots zipped through the evening air with copious amounts of afterburners.

In technology demonstrations, SkyRyse displayed their modified Robinson R-66 helicopter with the company’s new fly-by-wire simplified controls. A simulator within the compound presented the new way to control an aircraft (it’s actually a joy-stick).

Day three ended with evening performances and fireworks, a perfect way to spend a comfortable evening.
