TOP GUN House

I had the chance to visit the historic structure on a recent trip to Southern California. First week of January there was a warm unseasonable break in the cold. Day time temps this week were in the 70’s so it added to this perfect trip. I really wanted just to get a few days at the beach but when I found out this house was located a few miles away from my hotel, you know I had to take a hour out of my day and visit.
The house open hours start at 10 a.m. and I made it by just after opening. I did several shots outside before venturing inside. There were a few other people making their way around the shop. It is a store that sells pies but I was more interested in the history of the place seeing it was an iconic location in the first TOP GUN movie.
We all know the scene with Maverick and Charlie.
I had a nice chat with a girl named Lilly behind the counter. I flipped thru the guest/photo book and I noticed people had been signing it. I asked about that… and she said it was something that they started recently. I asked how often they had to change the book and she replied, this was the first book so she had no idea.
Needless to say www.Photorecon.net was noted just inside the front cover!!
