The Legacy of a Legend,The Trip of a Lifetime

A few weeks ago..Amelia Rose Earhart  recreated and symbolically completed her namesake’s famous around the world flight.

Veteran Television and Radio reporter, Amelia Rose Earhart, completed an amazing journey around the world, in her Pilatus PC-12 NG. All this, to help raise awareness for raising money for scholarships for young women, who want to get into the field of aviation. Her foundation is, Fly With Amelia Foundation. She and her Co- Pilot, Shane Jordan, flew into the history books by making this round the world venture in some 17 stops, flying some 24,300 miles.

In 17 stops and approximately 24,300 nautical miles, Amelia flew a Pilatus PC-12 NG around the globe, completing the flight that her namesake never got to finish. Along the way Amelia got to honor her namesake’s tenacity and love for aviation possibilities by awarding flight scholarships to young women around the country through her other passion project, the Fly With Amelia Foundation. Upon completing it, Amelia Rose became the youngest woman to circumnavigate the globe in a single-engine aircraft.

By recreating and symbolically completing Amelia Mary Earhart’s flight around the world, I hope to develop an even deeper connection to my namesake and also encourage the world to pursure their own adventures. Amelia believed that, ‘adventure is worthwhile in itself’ and it is that type of attitude that spurs us to seek the unknown, push our limits and fly outside the lines.
